Reporting a Player

The correct process for reporting rule-breaking players — when to report, what evidence to provide, and how to submit.

When to Report

❖In the event of a rule-break, you must finish the scene completely before reporting. Do not break character or interrupt the scene to make a report.
❖Exceptions are made for major rule breaks such as racism, sexual harassment/assault, or severe harassment. These may be reported immediately.
❖You must make a report within 48 hours of the incident. Exemptions can be made by Senior Staff+ under extenuating circumstances.
❖You may not "revenge report" — reporting someone mainly because you lost a scene, with the motive of getting them in trouble rather than addressing a genuine rule break.

Evidence Requirements

❖You must have evidence from at least 2 minutes surrounding the incident if reporting with video. Audio must also be included in the recording.
❖Exemptions can be made if there is a clear and obvious rule break. Staff may request more than 2 minutes depending on the situation.
❖You may not use another player's footage as the primary piece of evidence. If you do, you must also provide footage from your own perspective.

✓ Tip

Many players use software like NVIDIA ShadowPlay, AMD ReLive, or OBS Replay Buffer to always have a rolling clip of the last few minutes available.

How to Submit a Report

1Finish the scene you are in — do not break character.
2Gather your evidence: clip the incident with at least 2 minutes of context and audio.
3Open a support ticket in the Ragnarök Discord by going to the #create-ticket channel.
4Select the 'Player Report' ticket type.
5In your first message, include: your character name, the reported player's name/ID, when it happened, what rule was broken, and your evidence.
6Remain respectful and patient as staff review the report.

What Happens After Reporting

Staff will review your ticket and evidence. Investigations are conducted independently — reports against staff members (including owners) are reviewed without that staff member's input.

You may be asked to provide additional evidence or context. Respond promptly and honestly.

Outcomes vary depending on the severity and history of the reported player: verbal warning, strike, temporary ban, or removal from the community (RFC).

ℹ Note

You will generally receive an outcome notice, but staff are not obligated to share the details of internal disciplinary actions with you.

Common Report Scenarios

RDM

Player shot you or others without any prior RP interaction or initiation.

Evidence: Clip showing the start of the encounter through the shooting.

VDM

Player intentionally used their vehicle to kill or down you.

Evidence: Clip showing the vehicle incident with surrounding context.

MetaGaming

Player used information they could only have gotten from a stream or OOC source.

Evidence: Clip showing them acting on knowledge your character never revealed.

FailRP

Player broke immersion, refused to RP, or acted in a way that made no realistic sense.

Evidence: Clip showing the interaction from before through the FailRP moment.

Combat Logging

Player disconnected during an active RP scene to avoid consequences.

Evidence: Clip of the scene and the moment they disconnected.

NVL

Player didn't value their life — fought back while clearly unarmed or outnumbered with no RP reason.

Evidence: Clip of the scenario from start to finish.
